Love Yourself Before You Love Anything Else

Oh yes they say this. They say this all the time. But try it. Try loving yourself and they think you're arrogant. Love someone else you're a martyr. Care about yourself, you're a pig that thinks you need a pedestal. Oh yes, they tell you to love yourself before you can love someone else but they're going to tell you to stop being so full of yourself, to give something up. Doesn't matter, you just end up hating yourself after you love anything anyways. Once the honeymoon is over, once it isn't cute anymore, once the kitten becomes a cat, you're disgusted that you wasted so much time on something so meaningless. Something that doesn't even give you love back.
